Our Story
A Tradition Passed Through Generations
Amma’s Pickles was born from a simple belief — that the best food comes from the heart. Our recipes are passed down through generations, using traditional methods, natural ingredients and lots of love.
From Amma’s kitchen
It started in a small kitchen in Visakhapatnam, where Amma made avakaya every summer the way her mother taught her: raw mangoes cut by hand, mustard and fenugreek stone-ground that morning, red chillies sun-dried on the terrace, and cold-pressed sesame oil poured over it all. Neighbours queued with their own jars. Then their relatives in Hyderabad and Bengaluru asked for a jar too.
The same way, every jar
Today we make every batch the way she did — in small quantities, with no colours, no preservatives and no shortcuts. Each jar is sealed by hand and packed so it travels safely anywhere in India. Open it, and you taste the tradition in every bite.
